5 lb. Braid is great for casting and durability. Haven’t had any issues and I’ve been using it for a few years now.

My first fly-in outpost fishing trip to northwest Ontario was in 1982. There were four of us, a cousin of mine, a good friend, and his fatherJoe - a seasoned veteran of fishing for big pike in Ontario. Joe only used Eppinger Dardevle spoons, Ambassadeur 5000 reels, and Cortland Squidding braided line!!
I’ve been lucky enough to have made more than 25 trips to this same water system with family and friends. This year’s trip was with that same original good friend, his son, and four other great friends. I still use Dardevle spoons, Ambassadeur 6500C reels, and Cortland braided line…..! My best Northern Pike this year was 40” caught on this gear….Thank-you for continuing to produce your top-class braided lines!!

So far, so good. Very usable. Predictable manners. Seems strong for its diameter.
Had/Have been using 8# X-Plasma by Sunline.
Cannot say how good the Master Braid really is yet. It’s good. I’m happy so far. Longevity, color-fastness and maintaining its properties is still a future review. It casts well. Even though slightly thinner, it doesn’t cast as far as X-Plasma. It’s “noisier” by quite a bit (vs X-Plasma). That’s not an important trait overall but it’s true. I’m in favor of a USA based line company. I’ll keep using it if it holds up.
